Traditional Jewelry Craft Experience: Professional instructors will guide students through the history and cultural significance of traditional Chinese jewelry, exploring the unique charm of materials like jade, gold, silver, and pearls in artistic creation. Students will handcraft traditional accessories such as pearl hairpins and necklaces, while engaging in dialogues with intangible cultural heritage jewelry designers and artisans to uncover design inspirations and the essence of Chinese craftsmanship.
Future Materials Experience: Teachers will introduce students to smart materials and biodegradable concepts in an accessible way. Activities include identifying smart materials, campus material scavenger hunts, and DIY assembly projects. Students will learn about material diversity and their modern applications, such as biodegradable construction materials and industrial design innovations.
Chinese Speaking Experience: Students will learn practical oral Chinese expressions and sentence patterns through role-playing and group discussions. The course focuses on daily communication scenarios like greetings, self-introductions, and shopping, enabling real-life language application.
Corporate Visits & Cultural Immersion: Students will visit traditional Chinese jewelry workshops and futuristic material factories, observing the fusion of heritage techniques and modern technology through interactions with artisans. The programme also includes cultural activities like museum tours and exchanges with local youth.
High school students aged 14-18 who are interested in art and science.
Upon completion of the graduate program, a certificate of completion will be issued and 2 credits will be earned.
